Pop along to Saumarez Park to see local artist Deb Soper's Edge of the Sea ceramic art works display, and take a look around the National Trust's Folk & Costume Museum while you're there. Entry is free and it's astounding how many locals haven't been - it really is worth a look.
If you enjoy walking there are so many beautiful places to explore on our islands. With stunning views around every corner, and cliff paths to enjoy working up a sweat early in the morning or an appetite for coffee and cake en route. If you’re looking for inspiration try one of the National Trust walks or a local hiking trail over the holiday weekend. Even if you’ve lived in Guernsey all your life, you can still find something to surprise you.
As part of the 80th anniversary of Liberation Day, Guernsey Arts has commissioned and curated 'Dear Unknown Friend', a contemporary art exhibition which focuses on the experiences and challenges surrounding the evacuation of Islanders. 13 local artists have contributed to the exhibition, with works of art that aim to give a voice to those who lived during the evacuation and to tell their stories.
Yes, the water is still cold, but there’s a whole community of local sea swimmers who will tell you how good you will feels after you’ve taken the plunge. If you’re looking for inspiration, take a look at our list of sea swimming spots around the Bailiwick. Whichever bay you choose, stay safe with the safety tips you'll find on our list. If it's still a bit too chilly for you, there are still lots of things to do at the bathing pools that don't include swimming. We highly recommend the bacon baps and the berry yoghurt granola pots - we’ve had a few in the name of research!
Escape from the pressures of everyday life, right in the comfort of your own home, by creating a spa experience in your own bathroom. Take all of the elements of a spa day and DIY it… set the mood with soft lighting and scented candles then draw yourself a warm bubble bath, stick a face mask on, maybe even a hair mask and enjoy. Take a book with you or play some soft music (Spotify has long playlists for this).
